Excerpt:  In the last issue of the journal, in the Letters to the Editor section, I briefly discussed my personal interactions with two influential people in the history of our profession: Dr. Fred Barge and Dr. Joe Keating. I used them as an example of the benefit of civility in genuine discourse despite each of those gentlemen being steadfast in their view of chiropractic.  Not surprisingly, biases in historical chiropractic writings also exist.  We should, however, make every effort to minimize them.  It is simple to deify one and demonize another, accepting those which fit our parameters and disregarding the rest.
